We hold non-Union goods in an authorised facility under customs supervision until they are placed under a customs procedure or re-exported.
How it works
After goods are presented to customs, they may remain in temporary storage without immediate payment of import charges. The maximum period is 90 days; before it expires, the goods must be placed under a customs procedure or re-exported.
Our services
- receipt and inventory control of goods in temporary storage
- unloading, package checks and discrepancy reporting
- coordination of customs inspections and sampling
- preparation for import, transit, customs warehousing or re-export
- cross-docking and delivery after customs release
Benefits
- separates the arrival time from the clearance time
- allows time to complete documents and obtain approvals
- brings transport, inspection and customs formalities together at one location
Important: Only handling necessary to preserve the goods in an unchanged condition is permitted during temporary storage, without altering their appearance or technical characteristics.
